From manzanilla to pedro xim\u00e9nez, sherry can pair with zero-proof spirits to create even lower ABV versions of classic cocktails or mixed with bubbles for an easy spritz. Also, sherry wines can become a great alternative to any high proof spirit due to their remarkable structure. There are really no rules and rules are also meant to be broken. There are always exceptions to rules as we still don\u2019t fully understand the science of flavor. However, there are very helpful guidelines. Matching the body of your sherry with the body of your spirit (you want to substitute or complement) is a great start.\u201d From here, he links up the different types of wines from Jerez with specific spirits, cordials, citrus, spices, herbs, and fruits.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fino &amp; manzanilla<\/strong>\u00a0(15%-15.5% ABV on average) pair well with gin, vodka, tequila, rum agricole, and mezcal works well with herbs, dry vermouths, maraschino, honey, apples and citrus. Mix it with a zero-proof bourbon for a super low ABV Manhattan. It also works well with stone fruits, red fruits, sweet vermouths, amaros, plums, figs, chocolate, and coffee.
